The match play at Koala Park was very close, Sydney winning 5.5 matches and Newcastle plus Central Coast NSW Disc Golf winning 6.5 matches and taking it out overall. Thanks to Paul Summerell for the delicious rolls and thanks all for coming and helping us prepare for the The Australian Disc Golf Team event later this year 😀 ... See MoreSee Less

Newcastle Disc Golf

What a big day for Aussie disc golf yesterday was. 123 people played in one-day tournaments across the country, 53 of them heading up to Tunnel Ridge Ranch on the sunshine coast in Queensland for the Sunshine Coast Disc Golf Open 2019, 42 in Perth for the Perth Chick Flick and 29 to Newcastle NSW for the The 2nd Rathmines Rumble.

It was befitting on mothers day eve that there was a mother/daughter combination of the final of the Perth Chick Flick with eventual winner Emma Matich and her daughter Maggie Matich getting to play in front of a gallery all supporting women in disc golf.

Rhys Kruger broke through for his first win of the year to take out what is an increasingly competitive MPO division in the sunshine state while Tim Bohan had a hot round and topped it off with an ace to take out MA1.

Queensland's loss is NSW's gain as Tim Marchbank smoked a 59 in the second round to almost, but not quite run down Jonathan Jonas in the Rathmines Rumble.

Thanks to Kingsley Flett and Chris Himing of Fly Free Disc Golf for the pictures.

We will have some discs for sale at the Rumble tomorrow but if you have any specific requests, please let us know so we can check the stock and bring them along. Most major brands represented but the guy responsible for stock take decided to go on an extended holiday to Thailand instead of doing stock take, so a definitive list is not yet available. Blame Luke!
