Newcastle Disc Golf
The Newcastle Disc Golf Club successfully applied for a sporting grant from Newcastle City Council in 2010 and installed the course in May 2011. Since establishment there have been a number of events at the course, which is free to the general public and available to play any time.
They were already looking pretty good but Clayton's ace on hole 3a sealed the deal with a smoking -9 for Luke and Clayton on the Blue-Black layout. Hope to see you all next week for another chance to win the $100.
We had 23 players for the first doubles of the 2024 season in lovely sunny Jesmond and not a mozzie in sight. Seasoned campaigners Chilly and Simon took out the first title with a spectacular 19 in modified best shot from the Red tees. See you all next week, club memberships including mini are available for sale for $20 for the 6 month season.
I was putting together the Hole by Hole stats from the NotSW Open this weekend and came across a curious coincidence. Hole 1 and Hole 2 had *exactly the same number* of throws on them (447), despite Hole 1 being a Par 5 and Hole 2 being a Par 4. Holes 10 and 15 were the other biggest outliers (being the longest and hardest holes). Everything else played close to par.
Our first PDGA singles event at Beresfield is all wrapped up, with 44 players enjoying the sunshine and hopefully not too many discs sacrificed to the swamp monster.

There is a Social night happening on Friday night for the NotSW open. Everyone is welcome to come along even if not playing the event.
Friday 4th October at the Beresfield Bowling club, 5pm start, personal bar for drinks, with a trivia game and putting comp, both with prizes.
There will also be a sausage sizzle fundraiser at the course on Saturday before the rounds start. So come down and see the groups teeing off while enjoying a snag.
