Newcastle Disc Golf
The Newcastle Disc Golf Club successfully applied for a sporting grant from Newcastle City Council in 2010 and installed the course in May 2011. Since establishment there have been a number of events at the course, which is free to the general public and available to play any time.
It's great to be back at Jesmond for our weekly doubles. 18 players tonight took on the all Red layout with JJ and Sheldon prevailing in the CTP playoff over Ben and Simon with both teams near flawless shooting 20.

This basket being broken down by my Co-TD, Peter Helyer, is one of the 10 that were borrowed from the Sydney Club. The spotter flags and corflute came from Kev at Central West. The basket footing with its ingenious arms were hand crafted by our club member Broden. The over 3km of paint was painstakingly pre-mown and mapped out by Ian, Ben and Peter. The crew of Peter, Sheldon, Ian, Emilie, JJ and Gavin got to the course at 6am each day to set it all up. Then there was the members of our big tribe who travelled from their tribes all around Australia and NZ to make it to an Aussie major. Plus our major sponsors - RPM Discs, Total Tools Sandgate, Jindy Disc Golf Shop and Desmond Insurance Brokers who provided the money and prizes to make an event of this scale possible. These are all the people who came together to make it work.

Our NSW Open distance champions winning $100 each were Lily with a throw of 89m and Austin throwing 146m
